Welcome to CPSC 104: The Internet Course

Welcome to the homepage for the introductory level Computer Science course titled “The Internet” taught by Paul Bond and Jim Groom at the University of Mary Washington. The course examines the cultural and technical history of one of the most transformative technologies of the 20th and 21st centuries. You can see the syllabus for the 2014 Summer session here, as well as the syllabus for the inaugural Spring 2014 course here. The students in the Spring semester did some fun GI Joe PSAs about the future of the itnernet, and you can check those out here. They also did some great research about ARPANET, Online Dating, and Cyber Bullying amongst other topics. What’s more, you can follow along with through the course “flow” of ideas—just a fancy metaphor for a stream of blog posts from folks particpating in the experience. Thanks for stopping by!
